Mike What about all the storms and things on other planets… God’s just bored? lol
Alessandro Yes Mike Vass, but the big storm on Jupiter (Red Spot) is punishment for the gays!!!
I am an Atheist Homosexual aliens pissed god off *GRR*
Laurie Totally a scapegoat answer, but not surprise. God didn’t create the tsunami that hit the Indonesian area in 2004, he didn’t stop it, but according to the catholic church, he sent the people who went in to help, and he brought together all the victims who needed moral support. Uh huh, NOT!
Venkat MAy be god thought it was GTA
Jamie Best answer I heard from a religious person, “God set the system in motion, he does not spend his time controlling that.” No role, not responsible. Just like people’s behavior. No role, not responsible. No thanks.
Jose Theists will say the devil caused it, but that just shows how impotent and ineffectual their God is.
Robin So , Jamie, I suppose his a an absent god now. Kinda like an absent partner in business, the devil is still at work but god is on permanent vacation!
Dewey The answer is A, because there’s no such thing as a god.
Larry Marshall For a Christian perspective on recent disasters instead of guessing please read (if you aren’t afraid of being turned into sand, or being boiled alive or roasting for eternity in hell 🙂 ) http://creation.com/tsunami-tragedy and http://creation.com/reader-questions-motive-of-cmis-response-to-tsunami-disaster and http://creation.com/waves-of-sadness . This is how Christians fell about, try to assist those suffering from it, but don’t go blaming it on God because you yourself have no valid answers to the why?
The tragic devastation wreaked by the Boxing Day, 2004 tsunami is a sober reminder of the awesome power of God’s judgment in the Flood of Noah.
Dewey We are living in the 21st century and people are still discussing the god delusion as if it was real. When are you people going to grow up and move forward beyond the dark ages?
Allister The answer really depends on the value of the question. If it’s the £million question, he’ll just take the money. If it’s any other question, he’ll just take the money.
Joe @Larry Marshall – So your god never gets any of the blame but all of the credit? That’s weak sauce. Why should Christians assist the suffering while your sugar daddy in the sky sits on his holy ass and does nothing?
(The link never said that- it just dealt with why atheists are so quick to put the blame on God when there is a natural or man-made catastrophe. And wonders why we come to the aid of those suffering- often times it is the Christians who provide more aid than anybody else.) As far as “roasting for eternity in hell” is concerend, here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbrQI0r1B7w

I am an Atheist For a Christian perspective on recent disasters instead of guessing please read (if you aren’t afraid of being turned into sand, or being boiled alive or roasting for eternity in hell….. What did you do to piss god off, Larry? Or are you bilking the state for your disability? Either way, if your ‘guess’ is right you’re going to hell, if not for whatever you did to cause your god to disable you, then for bearing false witness in lying about that disability, and the mortal sin of sloth….bye-bye, enjoy hell.
(And here is the uncalled for comment based upon this comment in another thread: One of the advantageous of being retired on disability. I have the time and with the internet, I have access to sources on both sides of the divide.)
